OK, I don’t know who took this picture, and I
know it looks like I’m trying to escape from my
work, but actually I was due a break after
running that belt. It is grueling work, and after
10 minutes or so, you have to get some relief.
Ned is a much slower worker than I am,
so of course he doesn’t need as many breaks.

Here’s a shot of us in our upstairs bedroom/loft practicing our instruments. I’m pretty fantastic on the bongos, and Ned plays jazz clarinet.

We have a couple of pet birds. Mine is named Sammy and can speak monkey and human words like you wouldn’t believe! He can even do accents!
Ned’s bird is named Ramona. Ramona speaks, but only says boring words, and has no ability to do accents. Sometimes she says,”Shut up, Chester!”, which annoys me no end.

Take a look at my chopper! It’s my prized possession. Ned sometimes rides along side
of me on his Vespa, but I have to go so slow that my high powered engine
almost dies. I sometimes let him ride on the seat behind me, but I get tired of
hearing his shrieks, and the constant, “Watch out, Chester, there’s a little old lady
crossing the street!”, or some such nonsense.

We went on a quest to find our own bulldog after watching that You Tube. We
discovered a bulldog rescue home where old circus bulldogs retire. Ringo, that’s
the name that he was already given, was a circus dog specializing in chasing
clown cars. His short, stubby legs finally wore out, his bark was reduced to a
pitiful squeak, and off to the rescue home he went. We think it was fate that
we found Ringo. We plan to spoill him silly, and we’ll keep all clowns out of his
sight.

The parade started early in the day, and we really enjoyed it. We started to get
jostled by the ever increasing rather “lively” crowd, so we made our way up
to the top of a high tree to watch the rest of the action. Ned took a nap once
in a while, and I fell into a trance, because after a while, waves of topless
human women with big feathered hats undulating through the streets of Rio
becomes a bit boring. The parade continued through the night, and even
I felt like admitting, enough craziness, already!
